Bangkok's Aquariums and Zoos

This guide covers one aquarium in the centre of Bangkok and two animal parks outside the centre. SEA LIFE Bangkok Ocean World is an indoor aquarium inside the Siam Paragon shopping centre and is open every day. Safari World is a wildlife park in Khlong Sam Wa, outside central Bangkok, and is closed on Mondays. The Samut Prakan Crocodile Farm and Zoo, south of the city, has reopened under new management.

This guide explains when each place is open, roughly what it costs, how long to allow and how to fit it into a comfortable day. Older guides, including an earlier version of this page, listed more zoos, show times and ticket packages. We have kept only the details we could confirm with a current source.

Bangkok's Aquariums and Zoos at a Glance

Prices and opening hours were checked in September 2026 (the Crocodile Farm price was seen in November 2025). They change often, so please confirm them with each venue before you go.

Attraction Where Opening hours Approximate price
SEA LIFE Bangkok Ocean World Siam Paragon, central Bangkok Daily 10:00–20:00, last entry 19:00 From about 799 THB (child, walk-in)
Safari World Khlong Sam Wa, outside central Bangkok Closed Monday; Tuesday–Friday 09:00–16:00, Saturday–Sunday 09:00–17:00 Check the official ticket site

Ancient City (Muang Boran) Samut Prakan, near the Crocodile Farm Daily 09:00–19:00, ticket sales until 18:00 Check with the venue

Ancient City is not a zoo, but it is about 15 minutes from the Crocodile Farm, so the two fit well into one day.

SEA LIFE Bangkok Ocean World

What to Expect

SEA LIFE Bangkok Ocean World is an indoor aquarium in the Siam Paragon shopping centre, in the middle of the city. Because it is fully indoors, it is a good choice for the hottest part of the day or for a rainy afternoon.

The aquarium is divided into zones. They include:

  • Rainforest Adventure
  • Coral Reefs
  • Shark Walk
  • Ocean tunnels
  • Penguin Ice Playground
  • Jellyfish

There are also extras: a 4D cinema, virtual reality (VR) and a glass-bottom boat. Before you pay, check which of them your ticket includes.

Opening Hours and Tickets

SEA LIFE Bangkok is open daily from 10:00 to 20:00. The last entry is at 19:00, so arrive before then even though the aquarium stays open for another hour. Allow about 2 hours for a visit, and a little more if you add the extras.

Walk-in tickets for a child cost from about 799 THB. For the adult price and the current ticket options, see the SEA LIFE Bangkok website. Booking online on that website saves up to 27% compared with the walk-in price.

Safari World

What to Expect

Safari World is a wildlife park in Khlong Sam Wa, outside central Bangkok. Because of the drive in each direction, it works best as a day out rather than a quick stop. Leave early so that you arrive before the midday heat.

Older guides list ticket packages, prices and show times for Safari World. We could not confirm them with a current source, so we do not list them here. Check them on the official Safari World ticket website, which is also where tickets are sold.

Opening Hours

Day Opening hours
Monday Closed
Tuesday–Friday 09:00–16:00
Saturday–Sunday 09:00–17:00

The official ticket site lists no opening hours for Monday, so plan your visit for Tuesday to Sunday. The park closes one hour earlier on weekdays than at weekends. If you visit on a weekday, arrive soon after 09:00 so that you have enough time before 16:00. For questions, the park's telephone number is +66 2 518 1000.

Samut Prakan Crocodile Farm and Zoo

What to Expect

The Samut Prakan Crocodile Farm and Zoo is south of Bangkok, about 30–40 minutes by car from central Bangkok. It closed during the Covid period and has since reopened under new management. The farm is reported to have about 60,000 crocodiles. A visitor in November 2025 reported that crocodile shows were running again.

The same visitor found that many of the enclosures are old. The farm suits people who mainly want to see crocodiles. Do not expect a modern zoo.

Tickets

On 9 November 2025, foreigners paid 400 THB. Thai adults paid 100 THB and Thai children 50 THB. These prices may have changed. We could not confirm current opening hours or show times, so check with the venue before you travel.

Combine It with Ancient City

Ancient City (Muang Boran) is about 15 minutes from the Crocodile Farm. It is a large open-air site of about 800 rai (about 128 hectares). It is open daily from 09:00 to 19:00, and ticket sales close at 18:00. The nearest BTS station is Kheha. Check the ticket price on the Ancient City website.

A simple plan for the day is the Crocodile Farm in the morning, lunch, then Ancient City in the afternoon. Leave enough time to buy your Ancient City ticket before 18:00.

Planning Your Visit

Practical Tips

  1. Check the day of the week. Safari World is closed on Monday. SEA LIFE Bangkok is open every day.
  2. Start early. Arriving soon after opening gives you more time before closing and helps you avoid the midday heat outdoors.
  3. Save indoor places for midday. If you visit more than one place, go to the outdoor park in the morning and the aquarium in the afternoon.
  4. Allow travel time. Safari World, the Crocodile Farm and Ancient City are outside central Bangkok, so allow time for the trip in each direction. By taxi or ride-hailing car, budget for expressway tolls as well.
  5. Pack for the day. Bring water, a hat, sunscreen and comfortable shoes.

Visiting Responsibly

  • Choose activities where animals are watched, not handled.
  • Skip photo opportunities that involve holding, riding or chaining a wild animal.
  • Keep a safe distance from enclosures and follow the staff's instructions.
  • Do not feed animals unless the staff run the feeding.

Getting There

SEA LIFE Bangkok is inside Siam Paragon in the city centre, so you can reach it by public transport or by a short taxi or ride-hailing trip (Grab or Bolt). Public transport is the cheapest way to get there.

Safari World and the Crocodile Farm are outside the centre. A car is the easiest way to reach them, especially with children, and a private driver who waits for you saves looking for a ride back at the end of the day.

With Smile Taxi Service

Smile Taxi Service fares are fixed, per vehicle (not per person), and include expressway tolls. There is no meter. A sedan takes up to 3 passengers with 2 bags, an SUV up to 5 with 4 bags, and a van up to 7 with 5 bags.

  • A full day with a driver: the Bangkok Tour (up to 10 hours) costs 2,700 THB (sedan), 3,000 THB (SUV), 3,700 THB (van) or 4,000 THB (VIP van). If you are picked up in another province, add 500 THB. Tell the team your plan, for example Safari World, or the Crocodile Farm and Ancient City. See the Smile Taxi Service tours and day trips.
  • A one-way trip to Safari World or the Crocodile Farm: there is no fixed fare on the fare list, so ask for a quote on WhatsApp or LINE. Extra stops on a transfer cost 250 THB per hour.
  • From the airport to your Bangkok hotel: from Suvarnabhumi, 600 THB (sedan), 800 THB (SUV) or 1,100 THB (van); from Don Mueang, 600 THB, 800 THB or 1,000 THB. Book a sedan from Suvarnabhumi to Bangkok or a van from Don Mueang to Bangkok. Airport pickups include 60 minutes of free waiting from the actual landing time.

A child seat costs 100 THB extra, on request; ask for it when you book. You pay the driver in cash (THB) at the end of the trip. If you can only pay by card, message the team for a PayPal payment link; a 5% fee is added. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before pickup. After that, a cancellation or change costs 25% (less than 24 h), 35% (less than 12 h) or 50% (less than 2 h) of the price, and a no-show 100%, also when you pay the driver in cash (details). An English-speaking driver can be requested when booking, subject to availability. All routes and prices are on the fare list.
